Job Summary

The registered nurse provides highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients, using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide population‑specific care in accordance with BORN regulations and professional standards. The role includes oversight of team members and support for unstable or critically ill patients, outpatient Device Clinic responsibilities, and specialty area assignments.

Area Requirements
  • Adult GI: 2 years Critical Care/GI experience; ACLS required within first year; CCGRN preferred.
  • Assisted Reproductive Technologies Clinic (ARTC): BSN required; ASRM RN certificate within first year; 1 year reproductive endocrinology practice.
  • Cancer Center: 1 year chemotherapy experience; knowledge of hematology/oncology disease pathophysiology; OCN or equivalent within first year; chemotherapy administration certification required; oncology nursing society preferred.
  • Cardiovascular Center: 2 years critical care; cardiac ICU or CCU preferred; interventional radiology/electrophysiology experience required; BLS/ACLS required.
  • Device Clinic RN: 2 years device clinic experience; pace‑maker programming & clinic follow‑up; BCLS & ACLS required.
  • Emergency Department: 2 years ED experience; ACLS, PALS, CPI within first year; CEN or CCRN preferred.
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU): 2 years critical care; ACLS within first year.
  • Labor & Delivery/AETU: 2 years L&D experience; NRP within first year; fetal monitoring experience preferred.
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine: 2 years perinatal experience; BSN; BLS prior to hire; ACLS preferred.
  • Med/Surg: 1 year Med/Surg; telemetry training required within first year.
  • Mother/Baby: 2 years mother/baby experience; NRP within first year.
  • Operating Room (OR): 2 years OR experience; peri‑operative nursing program preferred; AORN certification preferred.
  • Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit / Henderson: 2 years PACU experience; ACLS and PALS within first year; CPAN/CAPA preferred.
  • Pediatrics: 2 years pediatrics; NRP within first year.
  • Pediatric GI: 2 years pediatric GI; PALS required within first year.
  • Psychiatry: 2 years psychiatry experience; CPI within first month.
  • SCN (Special Care Nursery): 2 years SCN; NRP within first year.
  • STAT Registered Nurse: 2 years critical care or emergency; ACLS, PALS, CPI within first year.
  • Primary Care Triage RN: 2 years triage/urgent care/outpatient; ANCC RN‑BC preferred.
Device Clinic RN Responsibilities
  • Enroll, interrogate, and program outpatient pacemaker patients.
  • Recognize abnormalities and coordinate follow‑up with cardiology.
  • Educate patients and families about device function and follow‑up routine.
  • Maintain documentation and billing; lead device recall team.
  • Oversee administrative duties and inter‑departmental coordination.
  • Participate in continuing education and budgetary recommendations.
STAT RN Responsibilities
  • Assist with rapid responses, Code Blue, and critical care admissions/transfers.
  • Support unstable patients across ED, PACU, surgical units, and ICU.
  • Facilitate IV access, phlebotomy, and patient transports.
  • Work under direct supervision of the Nursing Administrator and ICU nurse manager.
Qualifications
  • Education: Nursing diploma or BSN required; BSN preferred.
  • Licenses & Credentials: Registered Nurse (RN) state license; additional specialty certifications as required per specialty area.
  • Experience: Variable by specialty; see Specialty Area Requirements.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong interpersonal communication, problem‑solving, conflict management.
    • Demonstrated clinical competence per specialty.
    • Uses nursing process and evidence‑based practice for quality patient care.
    • Creates and maintains safe therapeutic environments.
    • Documents accurately and timely; uses “5 rights” of medication administration.
    • Coordinates multidisciplinary teamwork for comprehensive discharge planning.
Physical Environment & Requirements
  • Variations in patient care environments, potential exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and emotional challenges.
  • Physical tasks: standing (34‑66%), walking (34‑66%), sitting (3‑33%), lifting (35lbs+), carrying (20‑35lbs) etc.
  • Vision, hearing, and speech: required for communication and safety.
Work Location & Salary

Onsite, 2014 Washington Street. Salary range: $45.52 – $110.00 per hour (grade RN260A).
