Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Cath Lab seeks a Travel Nurse RN – Interventional Radiology for a 26‑week assignment in Newton, Massachusetts.

05/10/2026. Duration: 26 weeks.

Hours:

40 per week (8‑hour days).

Employment type:

Required Qualifications
  • One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • PALS or ENPC certifications
  • ACLS certification
  • RCIS/RCES certification
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
  • Perform comprehensive pre‑procedure assessments, including reviewing medical history and lab results
  • Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post‑procedure care
  • Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation levels during procedures
  • Assist physicians during procedures, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling
  • Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary
  • Provide post‑procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and patient discharge education
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, medications, and procedural details
  • Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities – must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills – must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills – must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements – must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally, work without assistance from other personnel; contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration on detail
  • Sensory – must possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively
