Part‑Time Hours20 hours per week:

Business Development
- Identify sales opportunities, deepen existing relationships and grow Salem Five’s market share in the communities it serves.
- Collaborate with branch management and internal business partners to uncover needs and make referrals to cross‑sell products and services such as business loans, merchant services, insurance and investment services.
- Engage in defined sales activities, including uncovering customer needs, offering solutions, closing the business, onboarding, follow‑up, outbound calling and recording each point of customer contact in the bank’s system of record.
- Participate in team meetings, contribute toward branch sales goals, engage in divisional campaigns and celebrate team successes.
Customer Experience
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience every time by making a personal connection with every customer.
- Uncover the customer’s financial needs through meaningful discussion and exploration.
- Make educated product and service recommendations based on expert knowledge.
- Provide financial solutions that meet the customer’s needs.
- Follow up to ensure satisfaction.
Business Acumen and Technical Knowledge
- Have a good understanding of the business of banking, including income and expense streams and the portfolio of products and services.
- Quickly learn all functionalities and related benefits inherent in the products and services offered by the bank.
- Demonstrate the ability to build relationships and alliances with customers and colleagues.
- Show flexibility and a willingness to adapt to change.
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with Salem Five’s digital technology offerings.
- Be proficient with mobile smart phones and downloading applications, including texting, email and application management.
- Be proficient with desktop applications such as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Be proficient using the Internet (mobile and desktop) to search for and locate information.
- Be eager to embrace new and emerging technologies.
Banking Operations
- Learn and adhere to all branch operations policies and procedures, including check cashing, deposit taking, settlement, account opening, debit card issuance, branch opening and closing, audit requirements, compliance, vault and ATM management, and other such functions.
- Obtain and maintain a full working knowledge of both traditional sales and teller functions and routinely perform both.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some experience in a retail environment preferred, but not required. Candidates should have or exhibit a desire to develop banking industry skills and display the qualities and attributes necessary to deliver a superior customer experience.
Salem Five requires that each Universal Banker be federally registered through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) with individual records in good standing. Individual NMLS IDs renew annually.
Physical DemandsEmployee is regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.

Salary Range$20.00 – $24.00 per hour plus incentives.
