Lead HVAC Service Technician

Overview

Forge is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician Lead to join our growing service and installation team. This is a hands-on field role for a senior technician who takes ownership of complex service work, supports teammates, and helps raise the bar for quality and customer experience across the company.

This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded HVAC professional who is confident working across all system types—including heat pumps, mini-splits, and gas systems—and who wants a role with responsibility, autonomy, and room to grow.

We are based in Newton, MA and serve residential customers across Eastern Massachusetts. The anticipated pay range for this role is $40-55 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We are open to negotiating compensation packages and want to acknowledge the immense room for growth in this type of role.

• Deliver Outstanding Customer Service: Listen to homeowner concerns with genuine care and offer multiple solutions to resolve HVAC issues. Thoughtfully and transparently answer customer questions, helping them find the best solutions without pressure.
• Perform High-Quality Service Work: Diagnose, install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including air-to-air heat pumps, mini splits and gas systems. Inspect HVAC systems for potential issues and perform routine maintenance to prevent future problems.
• Lead and Mentor the Team: Act as a role model for reliability, professionalism and our standard of service. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Mentor and train team members, creating pathways for growth within the company.
• Safety, Organization & Documentation: Ensure site safety and compliance with codes. Keep an assigned company vehicle organized, clean, and stocked and maintain project and customer documentation. Communicate professionally and promptly with office project coordinators, warehouse staff and peers.

• Significant experience in the residential HVAC field, as both an installer and servicing equipment, including ductless and ducted systems.
• Experience with air-to-air heat pumps and all gas systems (boilers & furnaces) required.
• Experience with oil systems is a plus, but not required.
• A comprehensive understanding of HVAC equipment, installation, repair, air flow and system design.
• Proven ability to work independently in a field service role.
• Experience training junior technicians.
• EPA 608 Certification.
• Able to work in attics and small spaces, lift 50+ pounds, stand, bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, etc.
• Valid driver's license.
• Available to work full-time with flexibility to work after hours if needed.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

The pay range for this role is: 40 - 55 USD per hour (66 Rowe)
