LACE; Learning At College Instructor

Position: LACE (Learning At College Experience) Instructor
Sussex County Community College is seeking a part time LACE (Learning at College Experience) Class Instructor. Sussex County Community College's LACE Program (Learning At College Experience) provides a dynamic, inclusive learning environment for post-high school students to access lifelong learning and social opportunities in an accessible and supportive community.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Plan individual class activities in conjunction with Program Coordinator.

* Choose class materials in conjunction with Program Coordinator.

* Make copies of class work as needed.

* Provide direction to class assistants during class.

* Work in coordination with other instructors in different class sections.

* Prepare electives as needed.

* Make sure every student from your class has exited the floor to the pick up area after class, make sure bathrooms are unoccupied and stairwells are empty.

* Put materials away in closet.

* Shut down computers after class.

* Receive two hours of staff meetings and two (or more) hours of prep time per semester.

* Inform Program Coordinator of any issues with students.

* If substituting for another instructor, follow provided lesson plans.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS:

* Special Education / Teacher Certification

ESSENTIAL

SKILLS:

* Ability to effectively interact with College faculty/staff and community representatives.

* Ability to work with Microsoft Office
