Key Responsibilities
* Provide engaging, hands-on instruction across various welding processes, which may include: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, oxy-fuel cutting, and blueprint reading.
* Deliver course content aligned with SCCC curriculum, program outcomes, and industry standards.
* Maintain a safe instructional environment and enforce all shop, tool, and equipment safety protocols.
* Assess student performance through practical demonstrations, assignments, and evaluations.
* Maintain accurate attendance records, grades, and required documentation.
* Support student learning through availability outside of class as needed (office hours or equivalent).
* Collaborate with program leadership to ensure continuous improvement of welding coursework and lab spaces.
* Available for day and evening classes.
Minimum Qualifications
* Associate degree, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
* Demonstrated proficiency and industry experience in multiple welding processes.
* Strong commitment to student success, safety, and teaching excellence.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
All instructors are responsible for teaching their assigned courses using a departmentally established course outline based on the master syllabus and assessing the course learning outcomes on the syllabus.
The Learning Management System (LMS) that we use for is Canvas. Prior knowledge of Canvas or similar learning platform is preferred. Although not a requirement strong technical and computer proficiency is recommended.
* Prior teaching experience and knowledge of online instruction strongly preferred.
* NJ, NY, and PA residence recommended.
Adjunct pay is based on $910 per credit hour.
