Adjunct Instructor of Art History

Sussex County Community College is looking for an Art History instructor to teach in the Fall 2026 semster. This course is scheduled for Mondays 9:25am - 10:40am beginning September 8th and concluding on December 23rd. .

Qualifications

A Master of Fine Art or Master of Art degree is required with experience in teaching Art History.

Preferred Qualifications
  • The Learning Management System (LMS) that we use for our online, remote teaching and classroom support is Canvas. Prior knowledge of Canvas or similar learning platform is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills needed.
  • 3+ years of applicable experience and prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
    • Strong technical and computer proficiency is recommended.
    • Availability to travel to campus when/if necessary.

All instructors are responsible for teaching their assigned courses using a departmentally established course outline based on the master syllabus and assessing the course learning outcomes on the syllabus.

Qualified candidates must have a master’s degree in Spanish from a regionally accredited institution. Prior teaching experience at the community college level is strongly preferred.

Adjunct pay is based on $910 per credit hour.
