Position Summary

UMC is currently seeking CNAs for our Bristol Glen Senior Care Community located in Newton, NJ. The Bristol Glen Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) is thoughtfully designed to provide person‑directed care in a home‑like environment to ensure exceptional care and quality of life for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Perform personal care activities for residents
  • Complete daily skin checks and report changes to nurse immediately
  • Participate in the dining experience (serving, clearing, cutting & feeding) based on residents’ strengths
  • Share resident preferences with other staff using appropriate communication methods
  • Maintain continuity of care daily by timely documenting and communicating care tasks completed with each individual resident assigned in the point‑of‑care kiosk
  • Attend and actively participate in Interdisciplinary Team Care Plan meetings to identify residents’ strength‑based approaches and skills for assigned residents
  • Assist residents with the use of adaptive equipment, including walkers, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, dentures, and hearing aids
  • Understand and follow restorative nursing principles and practices to assist residents in maintaining optimal function and maximizing strengths
  • Read and understand each resident’s individualized summary plan, and provide support according to the plan
  • Observe and identify residents’ changing needs and condition at first indication, reporting immediately to nursing as appropriate
  • Takes and records vital signs & weights as instructed by nurse; makes rounds several times each shift to identify residents needing assistance
  • Perform treatment tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse and therapist
  • Seek opportunities for personal growth: complete in‑services training, attend nursing staff meetings and mandatory assigned training
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months experience in a long‑term care setting preferred
  • Current and valid CNA certification in New Jersey
