Job Description
The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is essential in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity by assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting clinical operations.
Principal Accountabilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and other observations as assigned
- Respond promptly to patient calls and requests for assistance
- Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning using proper body mechanics
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient environment
- Report changes in patient condition to the licensed nursing staff in a timely manner
- Support nurses and clinical staff with procedures and routine patient care tasks
- Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies at all times
- Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients and families
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, lifting, and assisting patients
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program
- Current Nursing Assistant certification and/or CNA license
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, rehabilitation, or clinical setting
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
