Job Description

The Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is essential in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity by assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting clinical operations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and other observations as assigned
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and requests for assistance
  • Assist with patient transfers, ambulation, and positioning using proper body mechanics
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient environment
  • Report changes in patient condition to the licensed nursing staff in a timely manner
  • Support nurses and clinical staff with procedures and routine patient care tasks
  • Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies at all times
  • Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients and families
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, lifting, and assisting patients
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a Nursing Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program
  • Current Nursing Assistant certification and/or CNA license
  • Previous experience in a hospital, long‑term care, rehabilitation, or clinical setting
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
