Electrical Maintenance Technician

Must be open to 2nd or 3rd Shift Must be US citizen Must have a blend of:
Industrial maintenance Electrical Mechatronics (base line troubleshooting of PLC's, HMI interface) This facility mainly uses Allen Bradley PLC (some Siemens)

Responsibilities
  • Keep lines running: Diagnose electrical faults, perform emergency repairs
, and close out priority tickets fast.
  • Own PM windows: Use the evening/night access to complete preventive maintenance, calibrations, and firmware updates without production conflict.
  • Commission & improve: Assist installs/start-ups; fine-tune sensors, drives, and PLC/HMI settings after changeovers.
  • Document & hand off: Log work cleanly and handoff to day shift with crisp notes (what, why, next step).
  • Work safely—always: LOTO, PPE, and code‑compliant repairs; coach operators on safe restarts.
  • Prioritize smart: Manage a rolling queue (alarms, PMs, line changeovers); escort early when parts/contractors are needed.
  • Contribute to kaizen: Flag repeat faults, propose simple fixes (labeling, guards, cable routing, SOP tweaks).
Your toolset (typical on these shifts)
  • Electrical prints, multimeter/clamp meter, thermal, basic diagnostic software.
  • CMMS for work orders + spare‑parts kitting after hours.
What you bring
  • Post‑secondary electrical/mechatronics or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • ~7–12 months in industrial maintenance (co‑op/intern/full‑time OK)—we’ll grow you quickly on 2nd/3rd.
  • Solid troubleshooting fundamentals, clear verbal/written updates, and safety discipline.
  • Ability to own a zone with limited supervision and collaborate during shift change.
How you’ll be measured (and supported)
  • Uptime & response: faster recoveries, fewer repeat calls.
  • PM completion & quality: on‑time, well‑documented, zero rework.
  • Handoffs: day‑shift thanks you because your notes make their first hour easy.

You’ll get structured onboarding, cross‑training (schematics, instrumentation, PLC basics), and a coach who invests in your next step.

Shift information
  • Shift differential: premium pay for 2nd and a higher premium for 3rd (published and stacked on base).
  • Schedule: fixed shift; occasional OT for turnarounds/start‑ups.
  • Perks that matter at night: paid meal breaks, boot/tools allowance, and quick‑response support escalation.
90‑day preview (evening/night)
  • 30 days: Learn the lines and LOTO; own straightforward calls with support; complete a full PM route solo.
  • 60 days: Lead one zone’s PMs
; eliminate a recurring nighttime fault; tighten changeover checklist for your line.
  • 90 days: Serve as the after‑hours “go‑to” for one platform (e.g., a wrapper, press, or robot cell) and help commission a minor upgrade.
Simple, human pitch lines (use in ads/outreach)
  • “Prefer a quieter plant and more autonomy
? 2nd/3rd shift lets you own bigger wins—and you’re paid a premium for it.”
  • “You’ll learn faster at night: more access to equipment, fewer interruptions, and a crew that has each other’s back.”
  • “Growth is real: build from technician to Lead/Controls/Reliability with paid training and hands‑on projects.”
