Who You AreThe ideal Sanitation Supervisor is a proactive, detail‑focused leader with strong knowledge of sanitation, pest management, and food safety standards. You thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, lead with accountability, and ensure high standards are met every day—not just during audits.
What You’ll DoAs the Sanitation Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of the facility sanitation program, pest management, chemical control, and food safety documentation across production and non‑production areas. You’ll provide leadership to sanitation teams while ensuring compliance with regulatory and Mennel food safety standards.
- Lead and oversee facility sanitation, pest management (IPM), chemical control, and food safety programs
- Maintain an everyday audit‑ready facility compliant with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI standards
- Provide QRO leadership and support for food safety and IPM programs at the Newton facility
- Develop, maintain, and execute the Master Sanitation Schedule and blow‑down schedules
- Direct sanitation team activities and establish daily cleaning priorities
- Track, analyze, and report sanitation and departmental KPIs
- Manage IPM contractors and ensure certifications, training, and documentation are current
- Oversee fumigation and fogging activities to ensure safe and effective application
- Select and manage sanitation chemicals, dispensing systems, equipment, and cost efficiency
- Maintain SOPs, OPLs, and sanitation documentation at point of use
- Partner with Plant Management and Quality to conduct food safety risk assessments and product containment
- Participate in internal food safety audits and serve on HACCP and Food Safety Teams
- Train employees on sanitation, pest management, and chemical handling procedures
- Safely operate material handling and elevated work equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts)
- Supervise QRO Leads and QRO Technicians across multiple sanitation and food safety crews
- Associate Degree required or 2–4 years of related experience (5–7 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of sanitation regulations and food safety standards in food manufacturing
- Proven experience leading teams in a plant or warehouse environment
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to diagnose and resolve sanitation and food safety issues
- Comfortable working cross‑functionally and leading positive change
- Flexible with work hours, shifting priorities, and ambiguity
- Action‑oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
