Staffing - Mechanical Technician IV

This facility is part of a large, well established manufacturing operation with a strong presence in advanced materials and industrial glass and ceramics production. The Newton, NC site plays a role in ongoing capacity expansion and new equipment installation projects, offering exposure to complex, multi line manufacturing systems within a company known for innovation and long term stability in the materials science space.

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair (pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics)
• Equipment installation and startup support
• Blueprint, schematic, and technical manual interpretation

• Lead installation and debugging of manufacturing equipment to meet project milestones
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems including pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Align, test, and calibrate mechanical systems following installation
• Design and implement mechanical solutions and process changes to improve equipment capability and efficiency
• Identify and implement reliability, efficiency, and safety improvements for equipment
• Manage spare parts identification and storeroom entries as recommended by suppliers or engineers
• Develop, update, and maintain engineering and operations documentation
• Support training for operations teams on equipment and process changes
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and protect project scope and timeline
• Provide project leadership and resource allocation to help meet aggressive project milestones

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial mechanical systems (pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics)
• Experience leading or supporting equipment installation and startup in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Demonstrated safe work practices and awareness of workplace safety standards
• Experience developing or maintaining technical and operations documentation

• Project leadership experience on capital equipment or capacity expansion projects
• CAD experience
• OSHA or other safety certifications
• Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems)
