Maintenance- Yard Switcher

Overview

Does not need to have a CDL license but does need to know how to operate a tractor trailer so they can move them between the truck yard and the garage area. Performs basic check on tractor trailer (i.e. lights, fluids, tires) and repairs, tops off and/or replaces as necessary. This position drives tractor trailers from the truck yard to the garage and back once they’ve been worked on.

This position does routine maintenance on tractor trailers such as checking/replacing lights and checking/replacing tires. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position typically works day shift Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects 50-200 lbs. occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 200 lbs.
• Frequently climbs in and out of tractor trailer cab.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

• This is a non-temperature controlled environment.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
