Summary
The Lead Specialist of Quality Assurance supports Sunoco's Canadian and US retail fuel quality programs, including consumer complaint investigations, field surveillance, and applicable retail fuel testing. This role supports various internal teams such as marketing, transportation and supply to meet Sunoco's commitment to provide quality fuel to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead consumer fuel quality claim investigations for US and Canadian retail locations and provide final determination to the applicable customer service and insurance teams.
- Lead incident response efforts and communication to multiple stakeholders during retail quality events.
- Support Canadian and US fuel distribution teams by providing corrective action guidance and root cause analysis.
- Lead the 94 Octane retail quality control program, including site rollouts and quality investigations through the supply chain.
- Support Quality Assurance Manager with tracking of fuel quality incident data and metric creation to identify solutions and process improvements to ensure high quality fuels are being distributed by the business.
- Direct third-party inspection companies in quality support for investigation response.
- Support Canadian fuel quality team during supply related quality events.
- Lead Canadian retail oversight testing efforts and report out findings to the business.
- Support with communication to US and Canadian regulators while working through quality claims and investigations flagged by regulatory inspections.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum retail operations (compliance, product quality, delivery, or equipment engineering/maintenance).
- Project management and organizational leadership experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence without direct authority.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
- Primarily office?based environment.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (up to 50%).
- Occasional overnight travel.
