Operations Manager
A growing heavy civil and mechanical construction organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to support large-scale plant and pump station construction projects.
This is a senior field leadership role responsible for managing multiple crews and subcontractors while driving safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
The position offers the opportunity to lead complex infrastructure work, contribute to high-impact construction projects, and advance within a performance-driven operations environment.
Primarily a field based role, home office is in Newtown, PA, projects will be within a 100 mile radius.
- Lead, assign, and direct field crews to execute daily construction activities
- Ensure all jobsite operations meet or exceed established safety standards
- Provide forepersons with required tools, materials, equipment, and project documentation
- Track subcontractor performance while managing schedule and budget expectations
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scope requirements related to assigned work
- Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and cost performance for assigned activities
- Implement QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality construction execution
- Oversee all construction-related activities on assigned project sites
- Proactively identify and respond to changing site conditions and project challenges
- Manage documentation including submittals, material tracking, and document control
- Prepare and submit weekly safety reports and jobsite documentation
- Plan and manage manpower requirements to support project schedules and production goals
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in heavy civil and mechanical construction with superintendent-level leadership responsibility
- Strong ability to perform in fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environments
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, equipment operation, and QA/QC processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic project documentation tools
- Proven leadership, crew supervision, and field operations management experience
- Ability to support local and regional project assignments within a reasonable driving radius
- Experience supporting plant, pump station, or large infrastructure construction projects
- Background working with subcontractor coordination and multi-crew site operations
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage shifting project priorities
