After-school Teacher
The After-school Teacher works to support the mission of the school and provides extended care to HVWS early childhood students outside of regular school hours.
Required Qualifications- Experience working with children in Early Childhood.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to support parents with concerns.
- HVWS has a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and social justice and we seek candidates who share and implement these values in their teaching practices.
- Preference in hiring for this position will be given to candidates who have completed, started or are willing to start their Waldorf Teacher Training.
- Monday through Friday, 3-5:30/6pm (depending on enrollment)
- Some different shifts may be available
- Take great care to provide a loving, secure and supportive mood for the children.
- Strive to create reverence and the right inner and outer gestures for the children to imitate.
- Lead with appropriate verses for gratitude towards snack, games, and engaging activities.
- Set out children's lunches to encourage gratitude for the meal.
- Provide a healthy afternoon snack.
- Create a supportive mood for the grade school students to do homework.
- Create a supportive mood for early childhood children to rest.
- Work with the children to foster a clean and tidy environment in the classroom, ensuring the facility is left ready for the morning program to begin the following day.

By the College of Teachers and HVWS Board of Trustees, as outlined in the Teacher Search Guidelines for hiring and Staff Development Guidelines for termination. Preference in hiring for this position will be given to candidates who have completed Waldorf teacher-training. Conducted as outlined in Staff Development Committee Guidelines.
