Sr. Modeler - SAS and R Modeler and Programmer

Database Marketing Agency seeking a senior level SAS Modeler & Programmer with practical experience in model development for various direct marketing objectives. Capable to transition existing SAS models to a more robust analytic platform – currently R is being used for new and SAS transition models as well as Python. Local candidates only (CT, NY, NJ).

• Develop and maintain customer acquisition, retention and reactivation models, as well as database optimization, response analysis and lifetime value models.
• Prepare data for modeling, including working with diverse client files and pre-modeling data manipulation.
• Manage modeling and database development and coordinate with the existing analytic & programming team.
• Client‑facing responsibilities, including preparation and presentation of model reports, conclusions and relevant findings.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing complex data models, ensuring data accuracy, and optimizing data processes.

• Solid oral and written communication skills, especially in database design and programming concepts and methods.
• Documentation and organizational aptitude are a must.
• Ability to translate business requirements into analytics and data development actions.
• Professional experience in data reporting and/or visualization tools (PowerBI a plus) and advanced Excel usage.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

• Proficient in SAS with experience building linear and logistic regression models for direct and digital marketing.
• Conversant and experienced in modern programming languages and platforms, especially database systems (both in‑house and in the cloud).
• AWS platform engineering and supporting containerization (e.g., Docker) and ETL tooling on the AWS stack.

• Familiarity with demographic, interest and transactional data.
• Database design, development and implementation.
• Digital and email online platforms.

MS in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or another quantitative discipline is preferred; BS in the same fields would be acceptable depending on work experience. 5+ years professional experience in a data‑driven role. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with clients.
