Senior Assembler
Assembles subassemblies, products, or systems following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the tasks listed below. Performs balancing operations and more complex or seldom run operations. Ability to complete more intricate visual inspection and hand deburring processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs all of the duties of an Assembler:
Attention to detail required when reading op sheets, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed, and recording data.
Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
Installs moving parts such as shafts, levers or bearings and works them to test free movement.
Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies
Performs visual and mechanical inspection as required to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Mechanical inspection may require the use of GO / NO GO gages, Calipers, micrometers, height gages and other measuring tools. First, In Process, and Last Piece Inspection documentation and serialization documentation may be required. Special attention to detail required during visual inspection for part / assembly imperfections, scratches, dents, and discoloration.
Use drill press or hand tools to deburr, drill, tap, ream, or burnish features
Operate Laser Engraver with special attention to product description and serialization requirements.
Support job pulls / kits as backup to primary job / kit picker
Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product. This may include sound testing, digital multimeter readings, and centrifuge verification testing
Works in a cell as member of an assembly group assembling specific parts and passing unit to another worker within specified time periods.
Works at different workstations as production needs require and shifts from one station to another to complete required assemblies.
Transports material and operates hoist to move material.
Packs parts and assemblies to next operation or shipping per procedures.
Involved in Continuous Improvement / 5S projects
Train coworkers on job specific tasks
Completes basic reworks per instruction.
Hand deburr parts as required.
Enters all time, part count, and quality documentation into required computer systems as required.
In ADDITION to Assembler duties, is responsible for the following:
Sets up Laser Engraver operations
Sets up and operates balancing and other types of equipment.
Use drill press or hand tools to deburr, drill, tap, ream, or burnish features on more difficult / tighter tolerance parts
Ability to perform part straightening operations using chucks, presses and indicators
Ability to perform balancing process which includes:
Set-up and run milling machine with various holding fixtures and cutting tools to remove metal, Ability to use various tools to drill, sand, polish, and deburr parts, Ability to operate and understand balancing machine output to accurately remove metal in required areas
Ability to complete more intricate visual inspection ( vision system / microscope ) and deburring processing utilizing a variety of manual and powered hand tools.
Completes more complex reworks per instruction.
Completes production on seldom run / low volume product.
Works with Manufacturing Engineer on new process development operations to create instructions and time standards
