POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Handler/Forklift Operator operates power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for safe and efficient vehicle operation and may be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties. Responsibilities include accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company safety, security, and productivity standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receiving/Put-Away – Unload inbound shipments safely, move product to storage locations, and accurately input data into WMS; efficiently stack and store product; maintain an organized work area.
  • Order Picking – Pull and prepare shipments, ensuring correct quantity and type; perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards; prepare freight accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Quality – Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances.
  • Delivery – Efficiently move product from staging or storage to production lines or docks; maintain proper documentation; keep records to guarantee inventory control and security.
  • Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance – Maintain a clean, orderly work area and assist in warehouse security; comply with SOPs, corporate, and site‑specific policies; load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using forklift or other power equipment; inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily; operate all equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintenance – Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Other Duties (Site Specific) – Change forklift fuel tanks; participate in physical inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking; repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays; help maintain a clean, safe work environment; perform other duties as required; work overtime as dictated by business.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Comfortable working in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
HOURS

6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Saturday & Sunday

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with RF scanners and WMS functions.
  • Mathematical skills to verify quantities and inventory.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to complete tasks timely.
  • Minimal supervision or guidance; adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1–2 years experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • 1–2 years forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Walking, standing, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling.
  • Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
  • Occasional, frequent, and constant physical activity as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is usually low to moderate noise; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or hazardous chemicals is rare.

REMUNERATION

Base pay $18.00–$19.00 per hour; determined by job‑related experience, geographic location, and other business considerations.
