We need a Maintenance Handyperson responsible for the general maintenance of the hotel.

Job Title: Maintenance Handyperson

Responsible to: General Manager / Directors

Main

Purpose:

Responsible for general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry, and routine inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel departments.
• Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and general building systems.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, decorating, and other general repairs.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities for maintenance issues.
• Identify faults and report major problems requiring specialist attention.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to hotel schedules.
• Follow health and safety procedures and hotel maintenance policies.
• Assist with emergency repairs and respond to urgent maintenance issues.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work completed.
• Work closely with housekeeping, reception, and management to minimise disruption to guests.

Skills & Requirements:

• Previous maintenance or handyman experience is desirable.
• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, and building systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Reliable, organised, and able to prioritise urgent tasks.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergencies when required.
• Commitment to health, safety, and maintaining high hotel standards.
