Production Technician Spec

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Production Technician Spec in Niagara Falls, NY for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role performs electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of production units, developmental requirements, prototype requirements, manufacturing engineering, or preproduction operations where documentation and guidance may be limited. The position may include modifications, rework, quality testing, and interaction with development and manufacturing engineering personnel.

• Experience using a microscope to assemble components
• Experience with visual acuity while working with microscopes
• Experience with miniature precision devices and components
• Precise hand-eye coordination
• Technical and detail-oriented approach
• Ability to adapt to changing part conditions
• Ability to adapt to various detailed part inconsistencies
• Must be a U.S. Person
• 3+ years of experience in SMT rework, repair, or assembly; PCB rework or assembly; medical device assembly; jewelry making; or watch repair

• Experience working in an ISO/clean room environment
• Experience using a microscope to assemble miniature parts into assemblies
• IPC J-STD-001 solder certification

• Perform electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of specific production units
• Support developmental or prototype requirements in product development, manufacturing engineering, or preproduction operations
• Work in environments where documentation and guidance may be limited
• Perform modifications, rework, and quality testing as needed
• Interact with development and manufacturing engineering personnel
• Work with miniature precision devices and components under a microscope
• Adapt to changing part conditions and detailed part inconsistencies
• Support assembly, rework, repair, and precision production tasks
