HVAC Technician

The HVAC Technician shall be responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery, equipment and the site by following electrical codes, manuals, schematics diagrams, blueprints and other specifications. Involves the hands-on assembly and disassembly of component parts and machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.

All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

1. Assists in the installation, inspection, testing, dismantlement and repairs to all types of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and related equipment including refrigeration compressors, pumps, condensers, air handling units, cooling towers and associated controls, wiring and piping.

2. Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of heating and cooling equipment by periodically monitoring and inspecting heating and cooling systems to ensure continued proper operation.

3. Troubleshoots HVAC equipment by testing and inspecting for mechanical or electrical failure. Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace, or adjust faulty parts, piping, and control wiring on HVAC equipment such as cooling towers, air handling units, heating and chilling coils, condensers, pumps, refrigeration compressors, filters, and controls. Reassemble, test, and adjust equipment to obtain proper operating characteristics. Clean and secure equipment for optimum operation.

Make all necessary mechanical repairs to equipment being serviced. Make all mechanical tests required. Make necessary filter changes on schedule or as required. Fabricate parts, as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.

4. Consider all safety precautions and plan work to cause a minimum interference of operations. Plan and perform work requiring a thorough working knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, HVAC principles, of operations and application of equipment, etc. Maintain performance and maintenance records of HVAC equipment.

5. Utilizes test equipment including, voltmeter, pressure gauges, die injection, air balancing equipment, and micro manometer.

6. Perform other related duties as required.

7. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.

8. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.

9. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

10. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.

11. Attend all necessary meetings.

12. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

Education/

Experience:

1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. High school diploma or its equivalency required.
3. Must have five years of previous hands-on HVAC experience. Knowledge and experience in commercial HVAC applications required.
4. Must be knowledgeable in the operation and use of tools when working on HVAC projects. Tools generally used are: screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, solding torches, tube punchers, coil clean machines, ladders, gases, and hoist.

5. Previous customer service experience preferred.
6. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.
