Job Description:

Special Education Teacher (Full-Time, 12-Month)

Southeastern Connecticut

Join a creative, mission-driven team at The Light House Learning Campus, a state-approved special education school dedicated to supporting students ages 5-22 with significant intellectual and developmental differences. Our program blends functional, student-centered academics with positive behavioral supports and community-based learning to promote growth in social communication, daily living skills, self-regulation, and pre-vocational development.

Responsibilities include:

* Delivering individualized academic, behavioral, and pre-vocational instruction

* Supporting student learning in classroom and community environments

* Supervising and mentoring paraprofessionals and a teaching assistant

* Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to foster growth and independence

Requirements:

* Connecticut K-12 Special Education Certification (required)

* Experience supporting students with significant intellectual, developmental, and behavioral challenges
