Young Adults Pastor

Position Summary

The Young Adults Pastor leads Southland’s efforts to reach, connect, and disciple 18–30 year-olds by introducing them to Jesus and integrating them into the life of the local church.

• Develop and implement creative, intentional strategies to engage young adults in the community and help them carry out the mission of our church. Lead in the planning, coordination, and execution of young adult ministry events and gatherings.
• Recruit and train mentor group leaders for young adults. Create and promote a system to place young adults into small groups to find Biblical Community. Work with the Groups team to align with the overall direction of Southland groups.
• Collaborate with Local Outreach staff at all five Southland campuses to reach college students and post college adults in Central Kentucky.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with partner ministries at all local colleges.
• Recruit, train, and develop volunteers for various young adult ministry roles.
• Oversee pastoral care connections with young adults.
• Work with the Residency & Internship program to recruit and train young church leaders.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Communicator who can clearly cast vision and share information to large groups, individually, and across various media platforms.
• Strong interpersonal skills, team player, self-motivated and humble.
• Strategic and innovative thinker with a strong work ethic.
• Current or previous involvement serving with college or young adult ministry.
• Member, or willing to become an active member of Southland Christian Church who supports our Statement of Faith, Mission, Vision, and Strategies.
• Follows the lifestyle guardrails of Southland and conducts their personal life according to the teaching of the church.

The schedule for this position does require some evening and weekend hours.
