Position OverviewThe Intervention Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the success of students.
- Monitor and assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and interventions.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other relevant meetings.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in special education.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license.
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience with a variety of instructional strategies and interventions.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and other resources for students with disabilities.
- Familiarity with Ohio state education standards and regulations.
