Job DescriptionThis adjunct position will teach courses for the Communication Studies Program and/or mentor concurrent enrollment instructors in College Now. Applicants may indicate preference for one or both opportunities.
Responsibilities- This position may teach the basic oral communication course, COMM 110 Essentials of Public Presentations, in a variety of delivery formats (face‑to‑face, online, etc.).
- This position may mentor concurrent enrollment instructors in the College Now dual‑credit program in the delivery of the COMM 110 course.
- Instructors must follow programmatic standards and work from a common curriculum developed by the program.
- Instructors should be available to students and mentees outside of class time.
- Master’s degree in Communication Studies or a closely related discipline, or a master’s degree with 18+ graduate credits in Communication.
- Applicants for mentoring must be able to travel within Minnesota and attend an annual summer workshop on campus.
- Experience teaching college‑level Communication courses.
- Appreciation for liberal arts education.
- Ability to work productively and collegially with stakeholders.
- Preference for candidates who can teach on campus in Marshall, Minnesota.
- Preference for those who can document effectiveness in teaching online.
