The OpportunityPSE is hiring an Engineering Manager to own integrated CEMS system engineering across the company
. This role can be conducted remotely, though candidates based in the Western U.S. are preferred, for easier logistical alignment.
This role is for a senior CEMS systems engineer who has designed, reviewed, and commissioned turnkey CEMS and process monitoring systems and is ready to become the technical authority for a growing organization.
PSE will build its engineering team, standards, and long-term technical infrastructure around this role.
The JobThe Engineering Manager will lead the end-to-end technical execution of integrated CEMS systems
, from system specification and design through fabrication review, installation guidance, and commissioning support.
This is a high-autonomy role with minimal ramp-up expected. Deep CEMS experience is assumed.
Key Responsibilities Integrated CEMS System Ownership- Own system architecture, specifications, and engineering standards for integrated CEMS and process monitoring systems
- Develop and maintain BOMs and preferred system configurations
- Review and approve panel shop drawings, wiring diagrams, and fabrication quality
- Serve as escalation point for complex analyzer, sampling, and integration issues
- Develop standardized installation and commissioning guidance for field teams
- Support complex startups, certifications, and performance testing
- Ensure systems are engineered for reliability, maintainability, and regulatory defensibility
- Act as senior technical lead in customer and project meetings
- Translate permit and regulatory requirements into practical, defensible system designs
- Serve as PSE’s technical authority on high-stakes or complex projects
- Mentor engineers and senior technicians
- Establish workflows, documentation standards, and best practices
- Lead the formation and growth of a dedicated engineering function over time
- Extensive, hands-on experience designing turnkey integrated CEMS systems
Direct experience with:
- Gas analyzers and sampling systems
- Shelters, enclosures, and field instrumentation
- DAHS architecture and data workflows
- Proven experience reviewing panel shop design and fabrication
- Senior or principal-level engineer at a CEMS integrator, analyzer systems provider, or emissions monitoring engineering firm
- Recognized internally as a “go-to” technical expert
- Comfortable acting as the technical authority with customers, vendors, and internal teams
- Strong engineering judgment grounded in real-world field execution
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related)
- Immediate ownership of integrated CEMS engineering
