At Lubrizol, as an Improvement Process Engineer, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving process and technology improvements that optimize manufacturing performance and safety.
Responsibilities- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including gap closure and project scope definition, to enhance unit performance and reliability.
- Evaluate and prioritize process improvement opportunities using production loss accounting data and analytics.
- Partner with Center of Excellence (CoE), Operations, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), and Maintenance teams to define and execute improvement plans aligned to business objectives.
- Guide projects through Front-End Loading (FEL) phases, serving as the manufacturing representative to ensure operational excellence and readiness.
- Champion process safety in all project designs, ensuring robust, safe, and compliant manufacturing systems.
- Integrate cross-functional input to ensure optimal technology selection and operability in capital and improvement projects.
- Ensure strong communication and coordination between project teams and plant operations to maintain technical integrity.
- Lead new product trials within the plant, ensuring successful implementation and operational transition.
- Maintain accountability for the technical integrity and operability of supported production units.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process improvement, or production engineering.
- Demonstrated success in leveraging technology and process optimization to improve operational performance.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels and functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong planning, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change initiatives.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
