Job Description & How to Apply Below

Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!

E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of space-powered Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are fundamentally changing the design, economics, manufacturing, coverage limitations and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.

By building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system—with a unique antenna design, highly sustainable spacecraft system and low-cost, small portable end-user devices—we can extend global satellite coverage, capacity and connectivity beyond legacy space services to provide a new kind of IoT platform that lets users sense, track, connect and act on information gathered, anywhere.

We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to saving space, protecting our planet and turning connectivity into actionable intelligence.

Overview

We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our GNC Hardware team. You will design, develop, and validate electronic boards and power stages for compact, high-performance space mechanisms and assemblies. Your scope covers the full electronics lifecycle: from architecture definition and schematic capture through PCB layout, prototype bring-up, and qualification support. You will work at the intersection of power electronics, embedded systems, and mechanical integration in a demanding space environment.

What you will do:
  • Design and implement motor control electronics and control loops (BLDC and other topologies), including FPGA-based motor control architectures.

  • DefinethearchitectureofPCBAsfor GNChardwaredevices, including power conversion, motor drive stages, signal conditioning, and communication interfaces.

  • Perform schematic capture and detailed circuit design for power and mixed-signal boards.

  • Designmulti-layerPCB layouts (includingmixed-signals, DC-DC converters, H-bridge drivers, and current control loops) taking into accountEMC, thermal management, and space-grade constraints.

  • Select and qualifyPCBAsfor space applications (radiation tolerance, derating, thermal, out gassing).

  • Producethoroughdesign documentation: schematics, BOMs, design justification files, and interface control documents.

  • Bring up prototype boards: power-on sequencing, functional verification, anomalyinvestigationand resolution.

  • Support test campaigns, includingtestboarddesign, instrumentation, and data analysis.

  • Collaborate with the mechanical and test teams on integration, harnessing, and thermal interfaces.

  • Support environmental qualification activities (vibration, thermal, EMC).

What you bring:
  • 5–8 years

of professional experience inend-to-end PCBA design, production, and testing.

  • Proven experience in motor control electronics, including BLDC drives and other motor topologies (current/voltage control loops, commutation, drive stages).

  • Proficiency with Altium Designer (schematic capture, multi-layer PCB layout, design rule management).

  • Solid background in power electronics(DC-DC conversion, motor drive topologies, current/voltage control loops) andanalog/mixed-signal design(op-amp circuits, ADC/DAC interfaces, filtering, grounding strategies).

  • Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and validation using lab instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, thermal cameras).

  • Familiarity with space or high-reliability electronics constraints:componentderating, radiation awareness, thermal management, EMC design practices.

  • Autonomous, rigorous, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.

Bonus points:
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA-based motor control (control logic implementation, sensor interfacing).

  • Familiarity with common spacecraft communication interfaces: SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, RS-422/485.Previous experience in the space, aerospace, or defense industry.

  • Space experience is a plus but not mandatory.

While we welcome candidates with global experience, please note that English is the language we conduct our business in, and applicationsubmissions will need to be in Englishor both English and French to be reviewed by our global team.
