By joining our District 12, PD&P Branch II, Prestonsburg Section as a Transportation Engineer Supervisor in Floyd and Martin County, you’ll have the opportunity to supervise employees in maintenance and construction activities.
Summary of Responsibilities- Oversees the work of transportation maintenance crews and construction inspector crews.
- Plans, schedules, and supervises the work and activities of engineering crews on major projects underdevelopment, review, construction, or maintenance.
- Organizing and conducting meetings in the planning, construction and maintenance of projects.
- Develops and maintains project or program documentation.
- Meets with local property owners and officials to discuss highway road conditions and needs.
- Must be licensed professional engineer by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure.
- Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure as a professional engineer.

- In the field, there will be risks associated with existing project locations, such as live traffic, and also construction sites, such as moving equipment and material.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR
SKILLS:
Must have two years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure as a professional engineer.
Substitute EDUCATION for
EXPERIENCE:
A master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience. Graduate work in engineering beyond a master's degree will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors OR must be licensed in another state with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license from the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors within the employee's initial six month probationary period.
Engineering decisions recommended by individuals without a Kentucky Professional Engineering License must be approved by a KRS Chapter 322 Licensed Professional Engineer until licensure is obtained. Conditions
Work is performed in the office and in the field. Will be exposed to risks inherent to construction sites which require the following of safety procedures.
Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
