Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely data delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities- Lead technical requirements gathering; define integration approaches; communicate technical processes to business leaders and business requirements to technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements in an agile manner; build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties, special projects, and other assigned tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently solving software problems.
- Experience designing ETL strategies for multiple data sources (especially EMR systems).
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DBs incl. Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic Internet use.
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tool experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
