Field Application Scientist (FAS)
Location:
Nicholasville, KY (Travel required up to 70%)
Position Summary:
The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will serve as the primary technical liaison between Client and its customers. The role requires in-depth expertise in qPCR technology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide pre- and post-sales technical support. This role involves significant travel to customer sites, trade shows, and conferences.
- Provide expert knowledge on qPCR technology and Client's product offerings to customers.
- Assist customers with experimental design, optimization, and troubleshooting of qPCR assays.
- Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of qPCR solutions to customers.
- Offer guidance on CLIA, COLA, and CAP validation processes and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a technical resource for pre-and post-sales activities to support the sales team.
- Provide hands-on training and support for qPCR workflows and protocols.
- Collect Voice-of-Customer (VOC) feedback and relay insights to Product Management and R&D teams.
- Partner with the sales team to identify and nurture new business opportunities.
- Support cross-functional teams in technical discussions, project management, and product development.
- Liaise with internal teams to address customer requirements and ensure satisfaction.
- Attend trade shows, industry seminars, and conferences to promote Client products.
- Stay informed of market trends, competitor products, and industry innovations.
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
- At least 4 years of hands-on laboratory experience, including qPCR techniques.
- Strong theoretical and practical background in molecular biology.
- Experience with CLIA and CAP regulatory validations.
- Proficiency in technical report writing and data analysis.
- Familiarity with automated systems and laboratory instruments.
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 70%.
- Valid driver's license.
- Candidates must be based in Lexington, KY, or the surrounding area and able to commute to the office when not traveling.
- Experience in real-time PCR instruments, such as (Quant studio and Bio-Rad), and advanced data interpretation.
- Familiarity with DNA/RNA extraction workflows.
- Training or education skills to support diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
