Job Description & How to Apply Below

Dry Plant Manager – Frac Sand Production Plant | Ohio Run the Plant That Keeps America's Wells Flowing

Brand-new frac sand facility. Brand-new equipment. Zero bad habits to unlearn.

We're standing up a new dry plant in Ohio, and we're looking for the person who will own it — dryers, screens, conveyors, storage, loadout, and every ton of finished sand that leaves the scale. If you've ever walked a plant and thought "I'd run this differently," this is the job where you actually get to.

What You'll Own

You'll run the dry side end to end: drying, screening, conveying, storage, loadout, and finished product quality — safely, efficiently, and on spec. You'll lead the dry plant crew, set the pace on production, coordinate maintenance, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with Wet Plant, Quality Control, and Logistics to hit production goals and customer specs every single load.

A Day in the Job
  • Operational Leadership —Direct daily dry plant operations across dryers, screens, conveyors, bucket elevators, storage systems, and loadout. Hit production goals while maximizing uptime.
  • Team Management —Lead, train, coach, and develop your operators. Build a culture where safety and accountability aren't posters on a wall. Schedule to demand and grow your people.
  • Production Management —Track throughput, moisture, equipment utilization, downtime, and product quality. Partner with the Wet Plant Manager to keep flow consistent and the plant optimized.
  • Quality Control —Own moisture, gradation, and contamination specs. Investigate quality concerns and close them out with real corrective action.
  • Maintenance Coordination —Prioritize repairs, schedule PMs, and push equipment reliability up and downtime down.
  • Safety & Compliance —Hold the line on MSHA Part 46, environmental regs, and company policy. Inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations — you set the standard.
  • Continuous Improvement —Find the efficiency, the reliability, the cost takeout. Support automation, upgrades, and standardized procedures.
  • Inventory & Loadout —Oversee finished product storage, inventory accuracy, and loadout. Coordinate with Logistics so every shipment goes out safe, full, and on time.
  • Communication & Reporting —Keep production, maintenance, quality, and safety records tight. Brief the Plant Manager and keep the whole site rowing together.
Requirements What Makes You a Fit
  • 5+ years in frac sand, mining, aggregates, cement, or industrial processing
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Deep working knowledge of industrial dryers, screening equipment, conveyors, bucket elevators, dust collection, storage, and loadout
  • Track record with preventive maintenance planning, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will absolutely be considered — we care what you've run, not just where you studied.
Certifications
  • MSHA Part 46 Training (required, or the ability to obtain it)
  • Additional safety or leadership certifications a plus
Tools of the Trade
  • Microsoft Office Suite, plus familiarity with plant management systems, maintenance software, and SCADA or similar process control systems preferred.
The Real Conditions

This is an office-and-industrial job. Expect dust, heat, noise, vibration, and Ohio weather in all four of its moods. You'll climb ladders, walk uneven ground, and lift up to 50 pounds when the job calls for it.

Why This One

New plant. New equipment. Real ownership from day one — you're not inheriting someone else's plant, you're building the standard the next one gets measured against.
