Position: Public Health Nursing Supervisor (Vacancy)

Starting Pay Range

$40.24- $60.35

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in reproductive health and previous nursing supervisory experience preferred.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid State of Ohio license as a Registered Nurse and three (3) years of professional nursing experience. Substitutions: A master's degree in nursing or public health or certification in a nursing specialty area may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
  • Some positions may require possession of a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of clinical flow, including daily staffing requirements and staff performance related to clinical flow and patient interactions under direction. Assist in the recruitment, hiring and training of staff, and provide direct supervision to nursing.
  • Plan assignments of professional and non-professional nursing and other health personnel.
  • Interpret agency programs and policies to staff.
  • Confers with staff regarding nursing or program problems and procedures.
  • Ensure that nursing staff utilize evidence-based best practices as appropriate.
  • Participate in agency health conferences, case conferences, and committees with other community organizations.
  • Supervise student, practical, and registered nurses and other health personnel, including signing performance evaluations, approving leave requests, and recommending disciplinary actions.
  • Review reports and records of staff; evaluate staff performance; lead and participate in staff meetings.
  • Maintain patient medical records and reports.
  • Write reports.
  • Participate in policy development and the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and team functions.
  • Coordinate patient care to reach desired outcomes.
  • Act as consultant to others.
  • May perform grant management activities such as writing, monitoring, and evaluating grants and writing grant reports.
  • May be assigned to serve as a member of an Incident Command System (ICS) Team, or a similar public health response team which may include the conduct of operations on a 24/7 basis at remote locations, and may serve as a department and/or community incident commander or on the incident command team.
