The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- Certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN - CNP) provides comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion.
- Practices under the standard procedureestablishedfor the Nurse Practitioner role consistent with company policy andin accordance withall legal requirements.
- Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
- Performs routine physical examinationswithinscopeof practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings.
Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals
, Endometrial Biopsies
, works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform Colposcopies
. - Provides education on women's issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications.
- Ordersdiagnostictestsand prescribes medications within scope of practice.
- Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care.
- Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators andparticipatesin the overall coordination of patient care.
- Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural,spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
- Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient needs and assessment findings.
- Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department toensureeffective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
- Reviews medical record for follow-up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
- Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles asidentifiedby the practice.
- Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols,remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events.
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
- Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
- Demonstratesproficiencyin the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document,trackand convey information.

Qualifications:
- Must have active, unrestricted, KY APRN-CNP license and DEA.
- Must be able to meet all credentialing requirements.
