ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER NEEDED - LORAIN, OHIO
A Leading Automotive Supplier near Lorain, Ohio needs an EH&S Manager. Previous EH&S Management Experience in a Manufacturing Plant is Required. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIESLead the development and execution of site EHS strategies that promote a proactive, safety‑first culture. Serve as the site subject matter expert for environmental, health, and safety matters. Conduct regular plant floor walkthroughs to identify hazards, reinforce safe behaviors, and drive corrective actions. Chair and actively participate in site Safety Committee meetings. Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Serve as the primary site representative during OSHA or regulatory agency inspections and audits. Provide initial response to work-related injuries, including first aid coordination and clinic authorization. Manage workers’ compensation claims in coordination with Human Resources, including reporting, follow-up, and return‑to‑work or light‑duty assignments. Analyze incident trends and develop corrective and preventive measures to reduce risk. Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Conduct site safety orientations and ensure all training documentation is complete and properly maintained.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive experience preferred. Demonstrated experience with OSHA compliance, incident investigation, and regulatory audits.
- OSHA safety certification required. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar professional credential preferred.
