- This is an individual contributor role with up to 50% travel.
Our client is a leading manufacturer of end-of-line packaging automation solutions and are seeking a Sales Manager to drive growth across the Great Lakes region. This role is responsible for expanding market share, developing new customer relationships, and growing strategic accounts through the sale of packaging machinery, automation systems, consumables, service, and aftermarket solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on new business acquisition and market expansion.
- Identify, qualify, and close capital equipment opportunities across a variety of industries.
- Prospect through networking, referrals, trade shows, industry research, and direct outreach.
- Manage and grow relationships with strategic and named accounts.
- Build relationships with operations, engineering, maintenance, procurement, and executive stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, automation projects, service contracts, consumables, and plant expansions.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, project management, and inside sales teams to support customer acquisition and retention.
- Represent the company at industry events and maintain a strong presence within the territory.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; engineering or business background preferred.
- 3+ years of industrial capital equipment or automation sales experience.
- Proven success developing new accounts and managing a geographic sales territory.
- Experience with consultative or Challenger-style selling methodologies.
- Ability to manage complex, medium-to-long sales cycles.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong hunter mentality.
- Mechanical aptitude and packaging automation experience are preferred.
- End-of-line packaging equipment, automation, or related industrial systems.
- Experience selling integrated solutions including equipment, consumables, service, and aftermarket parts.
- Base salary plus uncapped commission
