Job Summary
The Campus Security Officer will foster a safe and secure working environment for all employees, clients, and visitors. This is an unarmed position.
Schedule AvailabilityPart Time Schedule at Ballard Blocks:
Monday - Friday, 2pm to 6pm
Part Time Schedule at West Seattle:
Monday - Friday, 2pm to 6pm
- Maintain access control over designated access points, responsible for visitor access management
- Utilize video surveillance systems
- Conduct tours/patrols of the interior and exterior premises
- Detect and deter illicit activity, including loitering, trespass and other transient activity
- Assist clients, business visitors and guests
- Respond to security, facilities and medical emergencies
- May visit and respond to other Centers in the vicinity
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of security officer experience operating in a full time capacity, including military or law enforcement service
- Prior de‑escalation training
- First Aid / CPR / AED certifications
- Personal transportation
- Unarmed position

- Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related discipline
- Experience working in a fast‑paced environment and ability to deal with shifting priorities
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including de‑escalation
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience conducting security duties in a school or childcare setting
- Experience utilizing surveillance cameras and access control programs
- ASIS membership
- State security license / certification
The hourly rate for this position is between $25.00 - $29.00 per hour.
The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening.

- New Part Time Employees in this role receive 1 hour of sick time per 30 hours worked if hired in Washington state, and sick leave as specified by local law if hired in other locations.
