Maintenance Technician $35+

Job Description

This 1st shift Maintenance Technician role involves planning and performing a wide range of maintenance, service, and repair activities on plant machinery, electrical systems, and facilities. You will support safe and reliable operations by troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and carrying out welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as needed. Candidates should bring at least 3+ years of industry experience or a degree equivalent, with a strong electrical maintenance skillset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform maintenance, service, and repair work on plant machinery, electrical systems, and facility equipment.
  • Carry out a normal range of gas and arc welding, flame cutting, and fabrication operations to support equipment repair and modification.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and blueprints to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment correctly.
  • Test and inspect pumps and associated devices to verify proper operation and identify potential issues.
  • Determine and trace the root cause of equipment and system problems through effective troubleshooting methods.
  • Perform routine maintenance and service duties to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Lubricate plant machinery and equipment according to preventive maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications.
  • Use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure quality.
  • Conduct PLC troubleshooting at a basic to intermediate level to diagnose control system issues.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on plant equipment, identifying faults and implementing safe, effective repairs.
  • Work safely in a heavy industrial environment and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to prioritize work and support production goals.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment, or a degree equivalent.
  • Electrical maintenance history with at least 3+ years of hands‑on experience.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting for industrial equipment and systems.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in a plant or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to test and inspect pumps and associated devices.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills to determine and trace causes of equipment problems.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance, service, and lubrication on plant machinery.
  • Ability to use quality measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Basic to intermediate PLC knowledge and PLC troubleshooting capability.
  • Experience with gas and arc welding, flame cutting, and fabrication operations.
  • Comfort working in a dirty, heavy industrial environment around copper and scrap materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree or formal technical education in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a unionized industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with upgraded and modernized plant equipment and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule and adapt to production needs.

The position is described as 1st shift, and schedule details include a rotating pattern of 5pm–5am shifts: work two days, off two days, work two days, off three days, then work two days and off two days, repeating.
