The Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility (CBCF) is a minimum security, ACA accredited, residential prison diversion program for adult male offenders. This 180‑bed facility houses adult male offenders—referred to as “residents”—for a maximum of 180 days. The facility emphasizes community safety and targets residents’ criminogenic needs through intensive cognitive‑behavioral programming to reduce recidivism.

POSITION SUMMARY / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Peer Support Specialist (Reentry) is a direct‑care contract position that uses lived experience to assist residents in addressing reentry barriers related to housing, benefits, transportation, healthcare, family reunification, and community integration. Reporting directly to the Reentry Manager, the Specialist supports residents with individualized reentry planning, coordinates community resources, and helps develop practical plans for long‑term success following program completion.
Grant funded position through December 31, 2026; benefit eligible.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS- Peer Support Specialist certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Lived experience in navigating barriers related to incarceration, recovery, or involvement in the criminal justice system.
- Experience working with justice‑involved, underserved, or high‑barrier populations (preferred).
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management systems.
- Ability to maintain ethical boundaries aligned with Peer Support guidelines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of community‑based corrections and therapeutic alliance (preferred).
- Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions to improve outcomes.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
