Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, supporting manufacturing operations, and driving process improvements within our business unit. This position will partner closely with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to provide actionable insights, accurate financial data, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports for the business unit.
- Maintain accurate cost accounting records, including inventory valuation, standard cost updates, and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with operations to analyze manufacturing performance, material usage, and production variances.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP (or IFRS, if applicable).
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting and reporting.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions, capital projects, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing systems.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills required.
