Figure Skating Instructor​/Coach; Part-Time

The Niles Park District Ice Land is seeking a dedicated and experienced Figure Skating Instructor/Coach to join our team. This part‑time position offers the opportunity to work with skaters of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to competitive athletes. Instructors will lead Learn‑to‑Skate classes, provide private and group lessons, and assist with special events, camps, and ice shows.

• Teach group and private figure skating lessons in accordance with ISI or LTS USA programs.
• Develop and implement training plans to help skaters improve technique and performance.
• Assist in organizing and choreographing ice shows, competitions, and special events.
• Provide a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for all students.
• Communicate effectively with skaters, parents, and staff.
• Maintain professional certifications and complete required safety training.

Job Type: Part‑time, no benefits

Hourly Pay: $15+ per hour (based on experience)

Additional opportunities to build a private lesson clientele over time

Requirements

• CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within three months of hire).
• Completion of Safesport Training (or ability to provide certification).
• Completion of CDC Online Concussion Training within three months of hire.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Passion for working with children and families in a team‑oriented environment

• Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Learn‑to‑Skate classes and competition‑level skaters.
• Experience coaching all levels of skating preferred.
• High school diploma required;
  Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience in dance instruction, off‑ice training, and ice show choreography is a plus.
• Must hold or obtain at least two professional memberships within three months of hire.
• Must maintain valid coaching liability insurance.
