We are seeking a leader for the role of Engineering Manager - Design and Drafting with a focus on electro-mechanical product design in the Aerospace Industry
. This role oversees the resources responsible for the design of our motors, sensors, actuation and pilot controls product lines and is based out of our world class Niles, IL facility. This facility is home to both our primary engineering development center and our primary manufacturing center for these precision aerospace products.
- Team Leadership:
Oversees and directs a team of engineering professionals to achieve short term operational objectives and maintain high performance standards. - Performance Management:
Conducts performance appraisals, manages hiring and termination processes, and implements training and development programs to enhance team skills. - Operational Planning:
Develops and adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges, ensuring the achievement of financial and operational goals. - Technical Problem Solving:
Identifies and resolves technical and operational issues, considering their broader impact on the department and implementing effective solutions. - Cross Department
Collaboration:
Partners with other departments to integrate engineering initiatives with overall business objectives, ensuring seamless operational synergy.

Demonstrates the ability to lead and inspire engineering teams to achieve strategic and operational goals. - People Management:
Expertise in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and employee development to build a high performing team. - Strategic Planning:

- 4 year Bachelors Degree (BS) OR 10+ years of equivalent experience
- Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) preferred
- Leadership Experience
- CAD system and Drafting Standards experience
- 6 to 8 years of Engineering experience in aerospace or closely related field
