Citadel At Saint Benedict is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team! As an RN you will be responsible for a group of residents or a shift of duty. Nursing care is delivered through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
Registered Nurse Duties and Responsibilities- Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations
- Maintains assigned work area (e.g., nurse station, medication cart, medication room) and resident care rooms in a clean and sanitary manner
- Takes and records residents’ blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy and provides respiratory care such as oxygen and nebulizer treatments
- Charts nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided and the resident’s response
- Ensures the resident’s environment is free from hazards and immediately corrects/address potential safety risks when prudent and warranted
- Monitors and directs non‑licensed ancillary services as necessary to maintain professional standards and a high level of resident care
- Communicates and reports information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies and facility personnel as required by policy and guidelines
- Ensures all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained; makes recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards
- Ensures compliance with infection control standards and immediately corrects identified non‑compliance
- Follows company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction
- Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Understanding and following infection control standards, policies and procedures
- Flexible work schedule and willingness for occasional overnight travel
- Positive and effective interaction with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other staff
- Special interest and positive attitude toward working with short‑ and long‑term care residents and the elderly
- Meets all health requirements as required by law
- Basic computer knowledge with aptitude for learning company applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
Education and Experience
- Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state
- One year of experience preferred
- Long‑term care experience preferred
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; mechanical aid may be used as required
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
- Meet all health requirements as needed
