Elementary Teacher
Niles Community Schools is looking for dynamic Elementary Teachers. Highly effective communication skills and professionalism are required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration, and community.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified in Elementary Education in the State of Michigan
- K-8 All subjects Self-Contained Classroom, or
- Lower Elementary Education (PK–3; ZO)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Endorsed in academic areas, such as Math, Science, Social Studies, English, etc.
- Plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students on subject matter, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning methods
- Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations
- Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials, and provides individualized and small group instruction and varied teaching methods in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Science of Reading and implements evidence-based literacy practices, including explicit, systematic instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
