Transport Driver

Overview

Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) is seeking a professional Light Products Transport Driver in Niles, Michigan (2140 S 3rd St). This full‑time local position requires safe and efficient delivery of petroleum products to regional terminals, refineries, and other locations, following MPC policies and DOT regulations.

• Perform pre‑trip inspection of equipment according to MPC policy and DOT regulations.
• Check tank truck/trailer or tractor/trailer for general operating requirements and ensure all required equipment is available and in good working condition.
• Document inspection results and any deficiencies on the pre‑trip inspection form.
• Drive a tank truck/trailer or tractor/trailer to transport products safely, efficiently, and professionally.
• Obey all applicable federal, state, and local laws and MPC and site‑specific SOPs for loading and offloading.
• Perform post‑trip inspection and complete all regulatory and customary paperwork.
• Keep equipment ready for the next shift, communicate incidents, safety, and environmental concerns per company procedures.
• Report equipment issues promptly and adhere to all safety rules and DOT regulations.

• Active Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
• Consent to company review of driving record and FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse records.
• Drive interstate; operate manual and/or automatic transmission.
• Hazardous Materials and Tank Vehicle endorsements (required).
• Must be able to work up to a 12‑hour AM/PM shift and beyond schedule.

• Passing a satisfactory driving record review and drug & alcohol screening.
• Completion of DOT physical and holding a current medical card.
• Three‑year DOT safety background check and seven‑year criminal background check.
• Pass pre‑trip exam and road test to demonstrate proficiency operating required equipment.

• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Work on elevated spaces up to 30+ feet on graded elevation.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50–65 lbs.
• Sit for extended periods of time.
• Grip a steering wheel for extended periods.

• Hourly wage range: $32.34 – $34.07.
