Overview

Zekelman Industries, a leading independent steel pipe and tube manufacturer, is seeking a Plant Manager for Sharon Tube, located in Niles, OH. The role is full‑time, onsite and requires strong operational leadership, strategic planning and people‑development skills to drive safety, lean manufacturing, productivity, quality, and cost initiatives.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and promote safe work practices in compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
  • Develop and execute operating plans, proactively identifying risks, challenges and improvement opportunities.
  • Build a performance‑based culture focused on accountability, safety, metrics and operational excellence.
  • Provide clear organizational direction and communication aligned with corporate goals, objectives and vision across all plant departments.
  • Review daily operating reports to resolve manufacturing, maintenance and operational issues while minimizing costs and preventing delays.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve day‑to‑day issues and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Formulate and implement production policies and programs impacting scheduling, quality, cost and efficiency.
  • Lead new manufacturing initiatives by applying lean principles, optimizing resources and improving production systems and processes.
  • Hire, coach, develop and evaluate employees to ensure strong leadership, high morale, teamwork and positive labor relations.
  • Delegate work effectively while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and company procedures.
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role with a proven track record building and leading high‑performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or a technical field preferred.
  • Strong labor relations experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.
  • Results‑driven, entrepreneurial leader with the ability to make sound decisions with urgency.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.
