About the Role
As a Maintenance Manager at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in leading the maintenance operations that support equipment reliability and minimize downtime at our Wheatland Tube facility in Warren, OH. This position requires strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills, offering the opportunity to drive efficiency improvements and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager, maintenance staff, and operations team to ensure optimal functionality of all plant equipment and facilities.
This is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Warren, OH.
- Oversee maintenance operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and labor agreements.
- Collaborate with operations to implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and enhancing production efficiency.
- Lead preventive and predictive maintenance efforts to improve equipment reliability and control costs.
- Assign and communicate job responsibilities clearly to maintenance personnel, ensuring timely and quality completion.
- Manage the maintenance budget, track R&M costs, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Identify and lead capital investment projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business goals.
- Provide technical support during equipment breakdowns, ensuring safe and efficient recovery of operations.
- Coordinate procurement of necessary materials and parts by working with the Purchasing department.
- Evaluate team performance through audits and feedback, driving accountability and development.
- Conduct employee evaluations, set performance goals, and manage corrective action when needed.
- Lead special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- 5+ years of mechanical/electrical supervisory experience in a heavy industrial setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills in maintenance operations.
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and safety regulations.
- Capable of managing complex maintenance tasks and capital projects.
- Ability to work on‑site with regular, full‑time attendance per schedule.
