Forklift Driver​/Midnights

Position: FORKLIFT DRIVER!! DAYS/AFTERNOONS/MIDNIGHTS

BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our expanding FAB Department.

BRT is a growing aluminum extrusions company, and as we grow, our employees will grow as well.

Essential duties of the FAB Forklift Operator:

Discuss with Group Leader and or Manager of production goals and duties for the shift.

Read and follow a hot list of orders and dies.

Keep racks of extrusions/bundles organized in staging areas by order/die/length.

Set full/empty racks on wheels for employees.

Remove scrap racks from department and place in designated areas.

Bring non-conforming material to disposition area.

Transport bins of spacers and empty bins when needed.

Dump hoppers of wood and trash in designated areas.

Communicate with team by radio.

Move product/materials manually as required.

May help other departments with driving needs throughout shift if asked.

Requirements of the FAB Forklift Operator:

Must be willing to work as a Utility Worker if necessary.

Perform the Forklift Inspection before driving for the shift.

Log into Forklift Monitor and perform all safety checks as required.

Operate Forklift safely and follow all safety precautions and procedures.

Blow out radiator with air gun for preventive maintenance on Forklift.

Must obtain Power Industrial Truck training/certification through BRT.Must be recertified in the driving certification every 3 years through BRT.Able to read and understand production tickets.

Must have strong communication skills and listen to instructions throughout shift.

Must be able to drive at a consistent pace to keep production moving.

Have knowledge of locations in the building and staging areas.

Report any unsafe issues/accidents on Forklift that need addressed to Supervisor/Manager/Forklift Maintenance and follow all Company incident/accident reporting procedures.

Must maintain good attendance

Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.

Physical requirements of the FAB Forklift Operator:

This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperature scan fluctuate from hot to cold and noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk,bend, stoop, twist, turn and climb and push frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual inthis role may work above ground level (off the ground) for long periods of time.

An individual in this rolewill need to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role mustmove 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally. And individual in this role will remain stationary foras much as approximately 75% of the time. An individual in this role will be an effective communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read and follow written procedures in English.
